31 Jul Creative Mornings: Collaborate
As an wedding invitation design in Raleigh, NC, I feel the need to stay connected with the creative community! Imagine how excited I was when I first discovered CreativeMornings! CreativeMornings is a breakfast lecture series for the creative community.
Every month they choose a theme and a speaker uses this theme to share with the community what they’ve learned. This months theme was “collaborate”. Danny Rosin and Matt “Moose” Strickland of Band Together presented on collaborate, or as they called it “cool lab” (because who wants to use annoying boring buzz words). Band Together began with five friends, and is now an organization of 512 volunteers—as they say, “operating on 100% heart.” Through their effort, Band Together has donated millions of dollars to the Triangle community.
CreativeMornings is at the Contemporary Art Museum (CAM) in downtown Raleigh, which is an amazing place if you’ve never been before!
I was especially excited this morning because this was my first CreativeMornings since Jonathan Opp, past AIGA Raleigh president and Partner + Chief Poetics Officer at New Kind took over! I also found Caryn Sterling of Drawing Insight doing her thing as a graphic recorder. It’s so cool to watch and see the notes she takes in beautiful fashion!
Since I am not a morning person, I forgot my notebook and had to take notes on a napkin haha! But here are the takeaways that I got from this morning:
